First you get a message that the company who owns the number isn’t who called, but rather you were spoofed by scam artists manipulating the caller ID. Then a recorded message asks if you’re over 60. If you press yes, it sounds like someone answers saying “Welcome to emergency alert. This call is monitored”. The girl asks a yes or no question, pauses, then continues as if you said yes. It’s a computer trying to trick you into thinking you have someone on the line. She sounds friendly but assertive. Very manipulative. Very shady. First they are trying to sell you something similar to Life Alert. It’s probably some scam where they drain your account once you give them a credit card or bank info, or perhaps they send you a device that appears to work but there’s no monitoring company. But, instead of answering with a “yes”, I said “What is the name of your company?” The computer girl voice said “I’m sorry but we can’t help you today. We will direct you to someone who can assist you further. Then another computer voice comes in designed to make it sound real, just like the other one. They try to sell you something different.
